FILMS-ONLY ROUTE
HOW TO WATCH THE MCU MOVIES IN ORDER
This guide follows MCU films by their original release dates. It preserves character introductions, post-credit connections and the sequence in which each phase reached cinema audiences.
Television series, specials and Marvel One-Shots are left out, making this a shorter route through the central film story. Some later movies refer to events developed on television, but the main plot of each film remains understandable without completing every series.
This list includes only films classified as MCU in the Marvel Marathon catalogue. Fox’s X-Men films, Sony’s separate Spider-Man branches and older Marvel adaptations belong in the broader Marvel movies guide. Viewers who want every MCU format can use the complete MCU release-order guide.

MOVIE QUESTIONS
MCU FILMS-ONLY QUESTIONS
Should I watch the MCU movies in release order?
Yes. Release order is the clearest route for a first watch because it preserves character introductions, reveals and post-credit scenes as audiences originally encountered them.
Can I understand the MCU without watching the television series?
The films still provide a coherent route through the main MCU story. Some characters and events receive more context in the series, especially during the Multiverse Saga, but this checklist is designed for viewers who prefer movies only.
Are specials and Marvel One-Shots included?
No. This is strictly a film checklist. Specials, One-Shots and live-action television seasons remain in the complete MCU release-order guide and main tracker.
Does this include older X-Men and Spider-Man films?
No. It includes films classified as MCU, including MCU Spider-Man films and later MCU multiverse stories. Separate Fox, Sony and legacy continuities appear in the broader Marvel movies guide.
How are upcoming MCU movies handled?
An upcoming film is listed after an official source confirms a specific release date. If that date changes, the shared catalogue and every affected guide are updated together.
EDITORIAL NOTES

Film titles and dates are checked against Marvel’s official movie catalogue and current first-party release announcements. The checklist uses the earliest public release date recorded by the shared catalogue.
