HOW THE FILM CAME TOGETHER
Ryan Coogler had discussed a potential third film with Kevin Feige by November 2022, and Letitia Wright said in January 2023 that a third film was being considered, but that the cast and Coogler needed “a little bit of a break... to regroup” first. Wakanda Forever was originally intended as the subtitle for a third film before it was used for the second.
Denzel Washington said in November 2024 that Coogler was writing a role for him, and Coogler confirmed Washington’s casting in June 2025. In November 2025 Coogler confirmed Black Panther 3 would be his next film and that development had begun.
