HOW THE DAILY BUGLE REACHED TIKTOK

By 25 November 2021 The Daily Bugle had launched an official TikTok account, set in the world of the upcoming sequel. Betty Brant, in her first real job as an intern at the paper, would run the account, and was only just learning that the internship was unpaid. Editor J. Jonah Jameson, played by J. K. Simmons, still considered Spider-Man a “Spider-Menace.”

The second and third seasons were made available on the TheDailyBugle.net TikTok channel, with the official website redirecting to it, and the second season was primarily released through TikTok and later YouTube.

INTERNS, CHALLENGES AND INTERVIEWS

WHAT THE SECOND SEASON COVERS

The first three videos, posted on 24 November 2021, are Betty’s welcome to TikTok, a clip in which Jameson cuts her off and calls Spider-Man a “Spider-Menace,” and a call for interns. Later videos cover a teleprompter challenge and a “Put A Finger Down” game, and a run of Burning Questions with Betty Brant segments whose first three guests are Coach Wilson, Flash Thompson and Ned Leeds.

Tom Holland appears as Peter Parker in footage, including a video about his release and a sit-down interview, and the No Way Home videos were released in a non-chronological order relative to the events of the film.

A NEW INTERN AND FAMILIAR FACES

WHO IS IN THE CAST

Angourie Rice plays Betty Brant, a classmate of Peter Parker and a new, unpaid intern at The Daily Bugle in charge of its TikTok account. J. K. Simmons plays J. Jonah Jameson in seasons 1 and 2, and Tony Revolori, Hannibal Buress, Jacob Batalon and Tom Holland reprise their MCU roles.

A shorter count gives 13 episodes, all on TikTok, ending on 6 January 2022. Several release dates also differ by a day between lists. This page gives both counts and uses 24 November 2021 as the start date, which they share.
