ERRANDS BEFORE EUROPE

WHAT PETER HAS TO GET DONE

In the short, Peter and Ned talk at school about the jobs Peter must finish before the field trip. Peter visits Delmar’s for a dual headphone adaptor and a travel plug, sells his action figures at a pawn shop to buy MJ a necklace while keeping Lobot, and uses the Spider Drone from Homecoming to open a post office window. He then fights a crime mob as Iron Spider and tells the police he is going on holiday.

The short uses footage cut from the theatrical film, and Hemky Madera reprises his Homecoming role as Mr. Delmar, the bodega owner.

A MONTAGE THAT DID NOT MAKE THE FILM

WHY IT BECAME A SHORT

Jon Watts discussed the cut material during the press tour for Far From Home in June 2019. He said the errands were all part of one montage, and explained what would happen to it:

“that will be its own little short film that we’re going to put on the Blu-ray.”

Jon Watts, 27 June 2019

The sequences had been cut from the theatrical release despite appearing in trailers, and they were fully finished.

ONLINE BEFORE THE DISC

HOW AND WHEN IT CAME OUT

The short is included with the home media release of Far From Home, which came out on digital on 17 September 2019 and on Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on 1 October. Marvel Studios is credited as producer, and the short was posted online in full on 25 September 2019, ahead of the disc release.

It is a bonus short rather than part of the film’s theatrical cut.

THE REWATCH

WHERE IT SITS IN THE CATALOGUE

In the Marvel Marathon it sits in the MCU release order guide between Spider-Man: Far From Home and The Daily Bugle Season 1, and in the Spider-Man movies in order guide in the same position. It is not in the MCU timeline guide. Aggregator scores are left out because it is a home-release extra, not a theatrical release.

QUICK ANSWERS

PETER’S TO-DO LIST WATCH QUESTIONS

Do I need to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home first?

It helps. The short shows Peter getting ready for the trip that the film follows, and it reuses footage cut from that film, so it plays best as a companion to it.

Is Peter’s To-Do List part of the film?

No. It is a short included with the home media release, built from footage cut from the theatrical film.

Where can I watch it?

It came with the digital release on 17 September 2019 and the disc release on 1 October. It was also posted online in full on 25 September 2019.

Which Marvel Marathon guides include Peter’s To-Do List?

It appears in the MCU release order and Spider-Man movies in order guides, between Spider-Man: Far From Home and The Daily Bugle Season 1. It is not in the MCU timeline guide.
